Homerswood

Primary and Nursery School

‘A pathway to grow, be curious and discover’

Welcome

Welcome to Homerswood Primary and Nursery School

Homerswood is a welcoming and friendly school that was opened in April 1963.

The school is set in pleasant grounds in the northern outskirts of Welwyn Garden City. It is an 8 class primary and nursery school which can accommodate 236 children.

Homerswood is a popular school that provides a happy and vibrant environment for pupils to learn in. We have a range of facilities, including spacious airy classrooms, large hall, two playgrounds, two woodland areas and a large field.

A Breakfast and After-School club operates from Homerswood providing wrap around care from 7.30 to 6.00 for 4 to 11 year olds.

Our Nursery open times are 8.45 to 11.45am each day.  We work in conjunction with Knightsfield Nursery and Pre-School Ltd to offer 30 hours childcare.

Our Reception to Year 6 open times are 8.50am to 3.20pm each day.  However, we offer a soft start to begin the day where children can arrive between 8.35 and 8.50am.

Homerswood is a community within its own right.  We are proud of the extra curricular activities and events that we run to support our local community including FUDGE (Fathers, Uncles, Dads, Grandads etc) and GLAM (Grandma, Ladies, Aunts and Mothers). Knightsfield Nursery and Pre-School Ltd also operate on our site providing learning for pupils from the age of 2.
