Year 5

smiley Welcome to Year 5 smiley

The Year 5 team consists of Mrs Reeve (Mon-Thurs), Miss Kettle (Fri), Mrs McHutchison, Mr Scully and 30 enthusiastic, lively children who are ready and raring to continue their learning journey through Year 5. Each week we will share elements of our learning on this page through photos and written content so please continue to view this page to get regular updates. We are working hard to achieve our 'Celebrating Me' targets displayed in the classroom and we continue to use the 'Learning Zones' and the 'Well-being Scale' to help us articulate how we are feeling and to recognise how our emotions and behaviour impact our learning.

We are looking forward to an exciting year of working together.

15.01.2020 - Learning about different jumps and leaps in Gymnastics

10.12.19 - Young Chef of the Year three course meals :)

24.10.19 - Young Chef of the Year Smoothie making!! They were delicious :)

23.10.19 - New Display this week: WOW work! We have been quickly filling our new display with effort and hard work examples from all children. We have been celebrating many children and look forward to continuing adding to this board throughout the term.

17.10.19 - Slicing apples in preparation for the Young Chef of the Year Competition!

16.10.19 - Each week members of Year 5 walk to the shop to buy the food for their lessons in preparation for the 'Young Chef of the Year' competition. This week they needed to buy apples from different countries. They needed to buy enough apples for each member of the class to have half an apple each to chop.

16.09.19 - Tag rugby session

Today, we had a tag rugby lesson from Monks Walk in preparation for an upcoming competition to celebrate the rugby world cup. Our first match will be against Harwood Hill in a couple of weeks time. We are all looking forward to practising our newly aquired skills in a competitive game. We shall keep you all updated!
