PE during learning at home

Investigating different ways of assembling wheels and axles.

Trying matzah, during the Jewish festival of Passover three matzah breads are placed on top of each other. The middle matzah is broken and the biggest piece is hidden. Children hunt for the matzah and win a prize.

Understanding why Christians pray The Lord's Prayer. Discussing how pretzels were first made by monks who gave them as rewards to children who had learned their prayers. The special twisted shape looks like the folded arms of a child praying. The word pretzel means reward.

Today we have been mixing the primary colours to make secondary colours, and using black to create shades and white to create tints of different colours.

We have been learning how to write list poems, we read Things I Have Been Doing Lately by Allan Ahlberg. It's a list poem of silly things that the writer has been getting up to. The children also wrote their own list peoms.

Year 2 have had such an exciting start to 2019! They have been learning all about Castles and Dragons in their new topic, 'Animals including humans,' in their science and re-enacting 'The Gruffalo' in the snow!   Every day is another opportunity for fun learning.
